At Mindsmith Tea we believe that we should not only fuel our body with good nutrition, we should fuel our mind with things that really matter.

NEARLY HALF OF OUR TIME IS SPENT IN AUTOPILOT, MINDLESSLY ACTING OUT OUR DAY.

Allocating time to physical exercise has become standard practice; taking time out to exercise the mind is less common. If we don’t allow our mind some peace, we can fail to hear what our body is telling us and can become vulnerable to stress, anxiety, feeling depressed and easily reacting to others. We are continuously on the search for happiness, but if we took away the mental clutter, we would realise we already have what we have been looking for. Mindfulness and meditation is like the mind's gym routine.

What happens when we don't have peace of mind? When the body is in a distressed state, a reaction occurs causing the adrenal gland to release cortisol. The main function of this steroid hormone is to redistribute glucose to parts of the body that need it most - known as the fight or flight response. However it also suppresses our immune system, making us more susceptible to disease. So if how we feel effects our health, let's try our best to be mindful.
