I feel that there are a mixed bag of feelings and opinions when it comes to life quotes, regardless of your opinion, you cannot deny that they are EVERYWHERE. Some come in the form of memes (which seem to have seeped into every form of social media), some in quotes from influential characters and others appear in everyday conversation. How many times has someone said to you, it will all seem better in the morning? Or even just a simple, life goes on?
Yes you can argue, they are just words BUT, said or read at the right time, these mere words can have a surprising influence on how you're feeling. Adele once stated ‘Music isn’t for the eyes, it is for the ears’, instantly disarming anyone commenting on her appearance, inspiring people to do the same. Why should what you look like have any sort of effect on your journey?
Bob Marley stated ‘Some people feel the rain, others just get wet’ implying that everyone is exposed to the same things, some people experience them positively with their eyes wide open and their senses receptive whilst others… just get wet.
The intentions behind using a life quote can differ too. Often used to inspire and lift peoples mood life quotes are most commonly thought of as a method of improving someones mood. However in certain situations life quotes can have a huge impact of people’s lives. When someone is unwell, a life quote can invoke hope, to make a decision that keeps them going. When someone is lost, a quote can lead them to clarity, to start exploring for the way improve their situation. When used in the right context to someone with open ears they can have indescribable effects on lives. Whichever way you look at life quotes, you cannot deny that they are positive. They are at least a pleasant reminder of keeping your head up. Here are some of my favourites.
